Chelsea and Hillary
October 29th, 2010In honor of Chelsea’s recent marriage to Marc and Hillary’s on-going stewardship of the Middle-East peace talks, they were presented with PYRAMID FOR PEACE pendants.
I’d like to share this special note that I received from The Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Please click the letter to view it.
The text reads:
On behalf of my daughter, thank you so much for the warm wedding wishes and for sharing your Pyramid for Peace design with us. It is a beautiful statement that is especially meaningful to me as I participate in Middle East peace talks. Thank you for your support and encouragement, and for your commitment to peace. Please know you have our very best wishes for great success with your efforts to promote peaceful co-existence.
With appreciation and best regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Hillary Rodham Clinton
“Ground Zero Mosque”
August 20th, 2010“Technically, peace between two warring (groups) is achieved through lengthy negotiations and the signing of complicated agreements by the rivals’ leaders. But true peace cannot be attained or sustained until the citizens of both sides get to know each other and develop a basic dialogue that leads to tolerance, and later to understanding and respect, for their ethnic and national differences.”

Imagine…
August 2nd, 2010A very generous guy just recommended this cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” by Noa y Khaled.
I hope you enjoy it and would love to hear about other covers that you also enjoy.
“This Is It” + be cool…be respectful…be peaceful
March 3rd, 2010
I just saw Michael Jackson’s movie, “This Is It”
Not only is it thrilling, awesome and inspiring, the percussionist, Bashiri Johnson appears, wearing the “be cool…be respectful…be peaceful t-shirt.
The message of the movie and the t-shirt seem very well aligned and I am extremely grateful and excited to be part of this internationally acclaimed project.
Thank you Bashiri Johnson!
PYRAMID FOR PEACE
Be wise and be nice.
August 13th, 2009Yesterday, I met a really cute guy in the park.
He was funny and fascinating and said that he spoke 4 languages.
When he told us that he was 85, we couldn’t believe it. Of course, we wanted to know the secret to his fine health, happiness and youthfulness.
He never smoked. And he said: “Be wise and be nice.”
Then, with a spring in his step he headed for the subway station.
Welcome to Positively Peaceful
August 10th, 2009After designing bras for over 20 years, I have finally figured out what I really want to do. Thanks to Eleanor Roosevelt, who said, “It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. One must work at it.”
I’ve been a promoter of peace and non-violence since the age of 5. I believe that peace is a noble concept and an evolutionary pursuit, but it was this quote that actually motivated me to do something about it. So now,
I’m designing all types of items, for people of all ages and persuasions, that you can wear and share everyday, while making a contribution to peaceful coexistence.
My designs are available on my website: pyramidforpeace.com and in June, I set-up my table in Union Square Park in New York City. The Park generously allows artists and crafts people to offer their work to visitors who come from the neighborhood, as well as from all 50 states and from countries all around the world.
My experience has been awesome and awe-inspiring. I have the opportunity to speak daily to an extremely diverse group of individuals, who represent every demographic you can imagine. They are hip, humanitarian, cool and spiritual. Their common thread seems to be a very strong sense of social justice, and the belief that each of us can make a difference, everyday , in a very small or simple way.
I’ll be sharing some of these conversations and experiences and I invite you to share yours, as well.
Until the next time, remember…
“Peace begins with a Smile.” –Mother Theresa
